Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
A helicopter soaring near a popular southern California coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Videos posted online show the aircraft starting to spin over the beach then plunging in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
First Aid Update
Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on that day.
Three persons on the street were injured. Information on their wounds were still under review.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
Planned Function
The department said the aircraft was connected to an regular “Cars and Copters” charity gathering scheduled for Sunday.
