Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News

Skydance Paramount will start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce full details in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount was looking to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 roles by early November.

Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
