Two Individuals Accused with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
